Spray tanning is a great way to get quick color, whether it's because you didn't have enough time to get sunlight, you have a big event where you need an extra boost, or you just want a sunkissed glow.

From contouring your stomach to lifting your booty, sunless tanning is deemed safe, is convenient, and easy.

But there is an ongoing debate about which one is better: Custom Airbrush Spray Tanning or a Sunless Booth. Both will provide you with an even tan, but they are still different. Knowing what to expect before you walk into Salon Tropics to choose, here's what you need to know to achieve your golden glow.

This type of Spray tan application is completely private. Our Heated sunless booth is completely private, has 3 nozzles, will instruct you on 4 positions, and spray you evenly with a sunless solution when you are ready.

No, it's not like that episode of Friends, it is much more user-friendly, and all of our staff members will walk you into the back and make sure you don't have any questions about the application process before you start.

Custom Airbrush Tanning requires training from one of our technicians. We take numerous courses and dive deep into the application process, skin types, skin tones, color theory, and more. It is important to know how much sunless tanner each person's body can handle, processing times, and what areas of the body to spray more or less on. ​

While not completely private, because you'll have a technician applying your spray tan solution on you, it does remove the chance of mishaps, as well as making it fully customizable to your skin tone and personal preferences.
So which is better?
Ultimately, it depends on you. Are you more comfortable being in a private room? If so, the Heated Spray Booth is absolutely a great option for you. Are you short on time? The Custom Airbrush offers Rapid solutions so you can rinse sooner.

We believe that everybody and every BODY is beautiful, but if you've got areas of concern that may overlap, a custom spray tan may be better for a more even application without the risk of tan lines.
​
If you are short on time and didn't make an appointment, the booth may be a better fit since we can accommodate walk-in appointments. But if you are wanting a little extra oomph with some contouring and color matching, maybe the Custom Airbrush is a better fit.

And if you are wanting to be pampered and taken care of so you can slay the rest of the week, Custom Spray Tanning will check all of those boxes for you, with that little lagnappe of setting powder, wiped hands and feet, and even some good conversation.

Both experiences take about the same amount of time, so only you can decide which type of spray tan application fits your needs the best.
